"I Really Want To Be Your Friend Forever" PLAYLIST OCT 18th!!

This week's show was a heady mix of 80s (by request), 90s (by me), and of course 2000s(also by me.) I want to take some time out and say how ridiculously wonderful the new 'Girls' record is. I have never heard a debut so accomplished yet still managing to sound incredibly raw and messy. (That includes you, Wavves.) Girls' 'Album' is not only an amazing record, sounding like a lovechild of the Beach Boys and Elvis Costello, its also the best heartbreak record I've ever heard. (That includes you, Vivian girls.) I've DJed three parties in the past two weeks, and at every one I've played this record ad nauseum(possibly just for me).

TWEE TIME!!!

Hello, boys and girls. Today we are talking about twee music. Many fans of twee recently came together for Indietracks 2009, and there is a picture of its Sheffield-y goodness to your right.
'Twee as F---" is a phrase often espoused by certain bands, but few truly deserve the title. Twee is DIY. Twee is often political. Twee is not just some people moaning about their broken hearts (though it may include that element.) Twee is magical. Twee is inclusive of men and women of all types of ethnicities. Twee is you and me.
