BEST OF 2K11! PLAYLIST DEC 11th!

A year of highs and lows...for all of us, maybe? Certainly for me. I saw the top of Mauna Kea and surfed for the first time... but I also broke my foot, which caused me to have one of the hardest years in graduate school. But throughout it all, good music from all over the world arrived to my ears to help keep me enthusiastic.

Past/Future Music.... PLAYLIST NOV 13th!

Today on "Stories" we had some old and new stuff....one of the reasons being that the "Smile" sessions was just reissued, with a whole bunch of unreleased stuff by the Beach Boys. My favorite track is "Heroes and Villains," which always reminds me of the chicken-stealing opener of the film "Fantastic Mr. Fox." So good!

Did you guys know that the the theme from Broadcast's seminal "Valerie" was lifted from this Czech film by Jaromil Jires ? And that it was sung by creepy-sounding children before Trish Keenan lent it her dulcet tones?
Just something to check out, mayhap. The film's great as well!

NEWS! At awesome local event ART + Flea, artists Baths and Gaudi will be having a Q+ A at Fresh Cafe on the 28th! Baths will then play a liveset at NextDoor the same night. Also, Warpaint, Clones of the Queen, and Paper Diamond will be playing at Aloha Tower on the 29th, this Friday!
Lastly, I'll be DJING Hallowbaloo at The Loft after "All the Apparatus" (formerly Haberdashery) play a show next Saturday the 30th for the street festival!
